Everyday skills
Cooking
is a
Life Skill
Independent living
Everyone needs to eat, everyday. Cooking is not only an essential part of capacity building, but having the ability to feed yourself something you’ve made leads to an independence that a lot of people take for granted.
At Mix Taste Eat, our Independent Living Cooking Classes are a place of nurture, fun and community.
Supportive classes
Learn Something new
Hosting smaller classes at a relaxed pace, Mix Taste Eat offers cooking classes designed to build confidence in the kitchen, for everyone.
Supportive Environment
The music is turned down, the class isn’t rushed and you can take your time to learn. Your support worker or parent is welcome to stay and assist if required, or just enjoy the aromas of your class.
NDIS Billing
Separate invoices can be sent with billing under your NDIS plan in line with your goals such as Community Participation, Skill Development for Independent in Daily Life or a focus on Health and Wellbeing improvement.
Run by a qualified Nutritionist, my Independent Living Cooking Classes are designed to support those living with disabilities to develop everyday life skills. Being able to cook a meal for yourself can leave a strong feeling of independence, especially for those relying on people and support for other aspects of their lives. These capacity building workshops create an opportunity for participants to socially engage, learn a new skill and participate in a fun group activity.
These classes have an evolving menu that’s designed for the participants, by the participants the week before the next class. As a qualified Nutritionist, my goal is to give guidance, support and encouragement for everyone to come along, make new friends and have fun while learning.
