Date

Ohmigod, I’m sure you know that Easter is just around the corner. Isn’t it crazy that every year we’re all like ‘Is it March already?!‘ but every March I feel like ‘How is it March Already!?‘. I’m sure the older I get, the quicker time zooms right past.

With the school holidays fast approaching, it’s time to start planning some activities to keep the kids entertained. Cos Lord knows we need a distraction that doesn’t involve a screen. Whether you’re looking for indoor or outdoor activities, there are plenty of options to choose right here on the Sunshine Coast that are sure to make these Easter school holiday a memorable one.

  1. Easter Egg Hunt – An Easter egg hunt is a classic activity that never gets old. Hide some chocolate eggs around your home or garden, and let the kids loose to see who can find the most. I remember my parents getting creative and writing clues or riddles to watch my sisters and I run around the house, hunting down chocolate goodness.
  2. Easter Crafts – There are endless possibilities when it comes to Easter crafts. From painting and drawing to making Easter cards or decorations, there are plenty of ways to get creative and keep the kids busy. There are heaps of templates and craft ideas at Big W or Aldi recently, they’re a fantastic way to keep the kids entertained for an hour or so. You could also try making some Easter-themed treats like cookies or cupcakes to enjoy together.
  3. Outdoor Adventures – Take advantage of the warm weather by planning some outdoor adventures! Try a picnic in the park, a nature walk,  a bike ride, or venture down to one of our amazing local beaches, there are plenty of ways to get some fresh air and explore the great outdoors.
  4. Movie Day – If the weather isn’t cooperating, a movie day at home is my preferred way to relax and unwind. Choose some Easter-themed movies with the kdis, like Hop or Peter Rabbit, and snuggle up with some popcorn and chocolate for a cozy day indoors.
  5. Board Games and Puzzles – Board games and puzzles are a great way to spend time together as a family and keep the kids entertained. You can pick them up at most op-shops lately, or inexpensively at Kmart. Grab a bunch of snacks and set yourself up on the floor with the kids and they’ll enjoy the quality time with you.
  6. Cooking Class! – Don’t forget to check out what cooking classes I have on during the School Holidays, you can bet there’ll be a few Easter Treats for the kids to find!

There are plenty of fun and creative activities to keep the kids entertained these Easter school holidays, from Easter egg hunts to outdoor adventures and movie days, there’s something for everyone. So start planning now and make this Easter school holiday one to remember.
