5 Ideas for your Leftover Dips

Date

Checking out the fridge the morning after having a BBQ with friends, I’ll often find leftovers from the dips that I insisted on creating the previous day. Now that we’re living in a society that is mindful about our food waste and using up everything, I have a few ideas for you on how to use up those delicious leftover dips in your next few meals.

  1. Pasta. Really any dip can be used in pasta. Creamy French Onion stirred with bacon and parsley through spaghetti. Basil Pesto tossed through sprials with grilled chicken and tomatoes. Roasted Capsicum mixed in with a pasta bake. Adding things to pasta is my first go when using up leftovers.

2. On Toast! Really, a dip is just a bunch of delicious things mashed together. What better way to enjoy them then slathered on crusty toast? Maybe topped with mozzarella….

3. Add to your favourite protein before baking. Make a parcel of baking paper, adding some potatoes, sweet potato, veggies and protein then top with your leftover dip. Think Basil on top of Salmon. Sundried tomatoes on top of chicken.

4. Add to pizza base! I love curry -like dips instead of tomato sauce then top with roasted pumpkin and chickpeas.

5. Just eat the Hummus. It’s perfect as it is.

Looking to make a new dip for your next event? Come along to one of my Sip & Dip Workshops this month. You can even take the leftovers home and make these ideas the next day!
